BURLINGTON, Mass. – September 21, 2012 - Veracode, Inc., the leader in cloud-based application security testing, today welcomed veteran technology journalist Paul Roberts as a regular contributor to the company’s application security blog. With more than a decade of experience covering security, Roberts’ commentary and analysis on application security will be featured weekly on Veracode’s Blog, which includes posts on the latest research, news, trends and events in the IT security industry.
Roberts most recently served as editor of Threatpost.com and as a security evangelist for Threatpost’s corporate parent, Kaspersky Lab. He brings 18 years of experience in the technology industry to Veracode’s blogging team, including a decade of experience covering the IT security space as a reporter and industry analyst at The 451 Group. Roberts has written extensively about security topics ranging from fast-spreading malware to hacktivism, threats to critical infrastructure and mobile security.
“We’re excited to bring someone of Paul’s caliber to the Veracode blog,” said Chris Wysopal, CISO, CTO and cofounder of Veracode. “Paul is well respected in the security community and we look forward to his in-depth analysis and coverage of the application security world.”
Roberts began his reporting career as a U.S. Correspondent for the IDG News Service, and has spent the last decade covering hacking, cyber threats and information technology security in senior positions as a writer, editor and industry analyst. His work has appeared in The Boston Globe, Salon.com, Fortune Small Business, as well as ZDNet, Computerworld, InfoWorld, eWeek, CIO, CSO and ITWorld.com. Roberts is frequently quoted as an authority on technology issues and trends. He has appeared on NPR’s MarketPlace Tech Report and as a guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show where he chatted with Oprah about cell phone etiquette.
“I’m tremendously excited to join the superb team of security experts and writers on Veracode’s application security blog,” said Roberts. “Veracode is a company that I’ve watched and reported on extensively. Its profile and importance have only increased during that time in step with the volume of application layer security breaches. Veracode has assembled a great team of bloggers to share their perspective. I’m honored to be a member of that team.”
You can find Paul’s first Veracode blog post, on the topic of vendor software security on Veracode’s application security blog on Friday, September 21st and every Thursday beginning the following week.
