BURLINGTON, Mass. – July 31, 2013 - Veracode, Inc., the leader in application security, today recognized three companies with their 2013 Secure Development Award. Veracode instituted this annual award to recognize companies that have the most securely developed software applications. The winners were selected based on the security quality of their applications submitted to the Veracode Platform.
To determine winners of the second annual Secure Development Awards, Veracode analyzed applications scanned over the past twelve months and calculated the flaw density of each, including those built in Java, .NET, C, and C++.
The following companies were shown to have the lowest flaw density by app when compared to thousands of other applications scanned:
“We know that security isn’t always top of mind during the development process, which is why it is important to applaud organizations that have made a commitment to developing secure applications,” said Chris Wysopal, co-founder, CTO and CISO, Veracode. “We are pleased to recognize these organizations for their efforts around creating more secure products for their customers and urge other organizations to take the same steps.”
