NEW YORK, NY – August 8, 2013 – AbilTo, Inc., a company that creates behavior change programs to help individuals overcome mild and moderate depression associated with major medical events and life transitions, announced today that Reena Pande, MD, has joined the company as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Pande will participate in a free webinar, “Driving Clinical Outcomes with Behavior Change,” on August 20th at 1 PM ET. For more information and to register, please visit www.abilto.com/webinars/.
“In her roles as a cardiologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an instructor at Harvard Medical School, Reena has consistently advocated for using behavior change to help patients regain their health,” said Michael Laskoff, CEO, AbilTo. “She will be an invaluable addition to AbilTo as we expand the scope of our evidence-based programs and find new ways to integrate them into best practice medical recovery approaches.”
AbilTo’s eight-week, evidence-based behavior change programs use a proven, best practice approach to help people make the positive, lasting changes they need to feel better. Working with AbilTo’s quality network of providers via online video chat or telephone, participants experience measurable improvements in emotional and physical health. Each AbilTo program is tailored to the unique challenges caused by a particular medical event and designed to give patients information and skills they can use to get through these life-changing events. AbilTo’s programs are easy to implement and show return on investment quickly for health plans and employers.
“As a practicing physician, I know my patients face many challenges as they recover from a heart attack, manage complications arising from diabetes or adjust to other life-changing events, such as the birth of a child,” said Dr. Pande. “AbilTo’s behavior change interventions have been proven to help patients get healthy and stay healthy. I am inspired to use our collective experience to extend this approach to the many people still in need of an effective behavior change solution.”
In 2011, AbilTo began collaborating with Aetna and large employers, starting with AbilTo’s Cardiac Forum for improving patient outcomes after major heart-related events. On August 20th, Dr. Pande will discuss evidence-based clinical outcomes driven by behavioral health programs, including a discussion of the success of AbilTo’s programs.
