BURLINGTON, MA – April 17, 2014 – Veracode, the
application security company, today announced that Dean Breda has joined Veracode in the newly created position of General Counsel. In this role Breda, who brings over 25 years of legal experience to Veracode, will oversee all legal matters for the company.
Breda most recently served as General Counsel for Interactions Corporation, a provider of virtual assistant applications for customer care. Prior to Interactions Corporation, Breda held the General Counsel position at Zipcar, where he served for three years, assisting in the company’s 2011 IPO efforts and its sale to Avis Budget Group in 2013. Breda also served as General Counsel for several technology firms such as Demandware, VistaPrint and StorageNetworks.
“Dean has an excellent track record working within fast-paced technology firms, and has a deep understanding of what it means to scale a technology company past the start-up phase into an enduring business,” said Ed Goldfinger, CFO, Veracode. “As more enterprises adopt our cloud-based security solutions to reduce their application-layer risk, Dean will help with our increased needs around customer, partner and corporate transactions.”
In 2013 Veracode grew its revenue by 50 percent. The company’s cloud-based platform now safeguards web, mobile and third-party applications for more than 600 organizations worldwide, including 3 of the top 4 banks in the Fortune 100 and more than 25 of the world’s top 100 brands.
“Application security is a growing concern for enterprises worldwide, with cyber-criminals increasingly targeting the application layer as the path of least resistance into an organization,” said Dean Breda, general counsel, Veracode. “Veracode’s cloud-based platform is ideally suited to solving this challenge, which creates an exciting growth opportunity for the company. I look forward to working with such a talented team and helping Veracode achieve its growth and business goals.”
