WOODBRIDGE, Connecticut. — October 8, 2014 – AuthAir, Inc., a pioneer in the next generation of seamlessly integrated authentication, announced it would debut the latest release of its Healthcare-optimized compliance product, AuthAir Dental, today at the American Dental Association’s (ADA) annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas. The significant product update comes in conjunction with the company’s announcement it has forged partnerships with more than 35 dental integrators nationwide that will bring AuthAir to market, customizing and installing it for practices coast-to-coast.
AuthAir develops cutting edge authentication solutions that seamlessly integrate with simple and complex IT infrastructures while adding additional layers of security, helping businesses – large and small – meet regulations with compliance, promoting industry best practices for multiple verticals. The company’s inaugural solution, AuthAir Dental, took aim earlier this year at dramatically easing the dental vertical’s particular Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) security compliance concerns to keep protected electronic Patient Health Information (ePHI) away from prying eyes during dental appointments. The latest release builds on the market’s enthusiastic reception while delivering substantial improvements in hardware, software and partner support.
As CEO Yaron Baitch explains, “We initially set out to build a product that would provide doctors and their staff with more protection without requiring major revamping of the practice’s existing end user processes and procedures. AuthAir Dental was the first solution of its kind to add security while allowing dental office staff to move around exactly as they always have. The only difference is that they began wearing an AuthAir token in their pocket. The token makes use of secure communication, seamlessly interacting with AuthAir-secured workstations, creating a HIPAA-compliant audit trail without staff having to type in a code of any kind each time they enter the operatory or having to log out each time they step away for any reason.”
Baitch adds, “Our latest release incorporates several hardware improvements users were requesting. The new AuthAir Dental Tokens feature extended battery-life, now guaranteed to last over twelve months and reflecting a more contemporary look and feel to the token itself, better ergonomics and interchangeable color bands to signal ownership at a glance. We’ve also improved our proximity setting to accommodate a wider variety of office configurations including those with open bays, shared computer cabinets and hallway stations. What’s more, we’ve exposed the Business Intelligence the AuthAir solution gathers for purposes of fraud detection and workforce analysis. The software alerts on after-hours login attempts and tracks efficiency metrics like room and staff utilization. Doctors gain both peace of mind and insight into time and motion of staff, which they can use to make profit-enhancing changes.”
AuthAir is now sold through dental IT providers throughout the US and Canada. Baitch shares how the new release delivers improvements for this important group, “Our portal and workstation software were initially optimized for the dentist and their staff. We’ve kept these end users foremost in our mind in our design, but now that we’ve been fortunate to team with expert dental integrators across the country, we’ve taken their feedback and added features our partners wanted to help make their job installing and supporting AuthAir Dental customers even easier than before. A master view of the integrator’s AuthAir clients, the ability to add users and order additional tokens on behalf of their clients from a central console, building in the capability for partners to private label the portal and reporting, improved user interface on the customizable proximity setting – these are all things that go a long way toward guaranteeing a great experience for our partners during both remote and onsite interaction with the dental practices they serve.”
Partners like Pact-One’s Dan Edwards are eager to share the latest AuthAir latest solution with their dental clients, “We were initially intrigued by the fact that AuthAir allows dental practices to implement a cost effective solution, with so little intrusion. AuthAir Dental’s automatic triggering of a lock on a workstation every time a hygienist or other staff member leaves a patient alone in the operatory, without ever requiring them to stop and take action to log out, or without having to take their gloves off, is a huge step forward for compliance, without the usual hassle. We are glad to see this release upgrade the token and recognize more of what integrators like ourselves need to do on behalf of our clients by making AuthAir’s partner interface and support tools more robust.”
