Boston — October 8, 2014 — Attend.com, a provider of event management software solutions, today announced that Victor Mendoza joined the company as its vice president of engineering. Mendoza comes to Attend.com from Boston-based Clypd Inc., the first ad marketplace for television, where he was the director of engineering. In that role, Mendoza took command of Clypd's infrastructure by putting his technical experience to use managing campaigns, analytics and data; creating the product architecture and roadmap; and growing the engineering team twenty-fold. This strong background in managing big-picture strategies and envisioning long-term goals for product development will be a key component in Mendoza's successful transition to his new role.
At Attend.com, Mendoza will also be responsible for continuing to develop the company's engineering team into an increasingly agile and proactive department. He will drive the team in its ongoing creation of highly advanced and user-friendly software solutions for the event management community, and will enhance the existing delivery pipeline to ensure the sought-after features reach customers faster.
"The core of Attend.com's mission is to drive more valuable event engagements by providing an end-to-end platform that streamlines the production process, giving event coordinators the opportunity for greater visibility into attendee actions and preferences," said Matt Engel, chief executive officer of Attend.com. "This allows our customers to gain a deeper understanding of what aspects of their events are the most effective, ultimately letting them spend more time on the strategic value components and desired outcomes of each event."
Prior to his time at Clypd, Mendoza also held roles as the founder of Tabookey Inc., a consulting service that helps companies with challenging big data projects; data and audience lead at Jumptap Inc., one of the first mobile ad networks; analytics engineering manager at eBay/PayPal Inc.; and principal engineer at Harvard Business School.
"Joining the Attend.com team means being exposed to the company's investors, board members and colleagues who have the skill sets and attitudes to not only capitalize on a wide-open market opportunity, but also to establish an open-minded and agile company culture that enables the kind of creativity an engineering team needs to thrive. The event management field is ready for disruption, and Attend.com is poised to take our platform directly to the users who will benefit the most," said Mendoza.
Mendoza received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, with a concentration in software engineering, from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
