New York, NY – November 12, 2014 – AbilTo, Inc., the nation’s largest digital behavioral change company, announced today that its abstract submission has been accepted to be included in the 168th American Psychiatric Association’s (APA) annual meeting taking place on May 16-20, 2015 in Toronto, Canada.
The rise in healthcare expenditures today calls for innovative and scalable strategies to achieve measurable, near-term improvements in medical and behavioral health. AbilTo’s study focuses on the impact of a remote delivered behavioral health intervention on high-intensity medical populations, including individuals with heart disease, diabetes and chronic pain.
“Our study demonstrates that remote therapy can measurably change people’s lives,” said Dr. Reena Pande, Chief Medical Officer, AbilTo. “The findings exceeded our expectations and are real proof that remote behavior change programs are an effective part of healthcare transformation.”
“For over five years, I’ve been delivering AbilTo’s remote intervention as well as supervising the efforts of other Licensed Clinical Social Workers,” said, Aimee Peters, LCSW, Chief Clinical Officer, AbilTo. “We are delighted to share our success reducing depression, stress and anxiety with the clinical community at large.”
The study, conducted by Dr. Reena Pande, MD, MSc, Aimee Peters, LCSW and Patrick Kerr, PhD, followed recent graduates of AbilTo’s behavioral health intervention programs and utilized the validated Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21) as a tool to evaluate outcomes both before and after program participation. The outcomes of the study will be released during the 2015 APA annual meeting, and will be available to the public at that time.
