The Forrester Wave™: Enterprise Video Platforms And Webcasting, Q1 2015 report examined 16 video platform and webcasting providers. The report included three separate Wave™ analyses - Enterprise Video Platforms for Webcasting, Enterprise Video Platforms for Portals, and Enterprise Video Platforms for Webcasting and Portals (the latter representing combined solutions for Video Portals and Webcasting).
Kaltura had the highest scores in all three categories, current offering, strategy, and market presence, in both the ‘Enterprise Video Platforms for Webcasting and Portals’ Wave™ and the ‘Enterprise Video Platforms for Portals’ Wave™. Kaltura also had among the highest scores in the ‘Current Offering’ and ‘Market Presence’ categories in the ‘Enterprise Video Platforms for Webcasting’ Wave™.
The report states that: “Kaltura has the most complete set of applications.” and “with its modular approach, strong support for APIs, and large number of technology integrations, Kaltura is closest to being the one video platform that can do it all.”
The report further states that “besides being the most feature-rich portal, Kaltura has the most integration with enterprise social, intranet, and collaboration solutions. It is highly flexible in how it can be deployed or customized through APIs” and “as the only vendor targeting all discrete markets for video platforms – marketing, employee communications, education, and media and entertainment, Kaltura has the most complete solution.”
“What an honor it is for us to have received what we feel is such an outstanding recognition from one of the most prestigious and recognized third party research firms in the world,” said Kaltura Chairman and CEO, Ron Yekutiel. “Video is rapidly replacing text as the preferred medium and data type. Organizations across all industries are being ‘videofied’ with standalone video solutions such as video portals and webcasting systems, and by adding integrated video functionalities and workflows into their existing enterprise solutions, such as web and content management systems, social enterprise systems, marketing systems, human capital management systems.”
Mr. Yekutiel continued: “Kaltura offers organizations the most robust set of capabilities and supports the widest array of use cases for all markets. But equally as important – Kaltura’s open platform and collaborative approach enables unparalleled flexibility to customize, integrate, and extend video experiences. All of these factors make Kaltura the ideal one-stop-shop provider for companies and all of their video needs.”
Forrester separately evaluated the strengths and weaknesses of sixteen video platform and webcasting against a long list of criteria in three major categories, as noted above. For each category, the vendors were evaluated for current offering, strategy and market presence. Current offering was benchmarked across criteria such as uploading and encoding, player and interactive features, deployment model support, analytics and reporting, editing, administration and security. Strategy was measured against the vendor’s integration with enterprise applications, API support, cost of ownership and global support. Customer base and current revenue were measured to determine market presence.
