Woodbridge, CT — AuthAir Inc., the company best known for its pioneering work in seamlessly integrated authentication, unveils the latest software for its flagship AuthAir Dental product at this week’s Yankee Dental Congress in Boston. The software builds upon AuthAir’s reputation for helping dental and healthcare practices meet regulations with little-to-no change in their daily procedures. While keeping ease of implementation and assistance meeting HIPAA guidelines paramount, this latest release focuses on delivering profit-enhancing guidance to doctors looking for real-time, actual data to guide their decision-making.
AuthAir CEO Yaron Baitch explains that deployment is unchanged, but the solution now further leverages AuthAir’s existing portal to surface this value-added information. Baitch states, “The practice-specific data used to provide Business Intelligence is aggregated from authentication data and a number of proprietary data points. That data collection invisibly takes place between the AuthAir Client Software on the practice’s computers and AuthAir Tokens that doctors and staff wear clipped to their belts or carry in their pockets. AuthAir Tokens and the AuthAir Software wirelessly communicate, logging staff access and validating identities for purposes of locking or unlocking systems only in the presence of authorized personnel. The same data registered each time staff come within or step away from the custom configured distance to a workstation, which records the unique identity of the token wearer, captures multiple elements of staff movement, presence and system access, including which users were present at any particular time.”
Baitch adds, “AuthAir now automatically turns the raw data about number of unlocks and locks, staff presence in different operatories or at the front desk, mapped to specific personnel, into actionable information. Reports are readily visible in the already-included AuthAir Portal, bolstered by extensive ad-hoc query capabilities. Doctors can see which rooms and staff are busiest. Doctors no longer have only the theoretical or ‘as-forecasted by their practice management system’ data to work with. They now have real-time, actual data, which grows statistically more significant the longer the practice utilizes AuthAir. Over time, AuthAir provides even greater insight doctors can use to optimize decisions and their practice’s performance.”
This intelligence is particularly profound when used for internal fraud detection. Brandon Deschene, President of TechOne Technology Solutions, a full service provider of dental technology integration to hundreds of practices, shares this feedback, “Nearly every doctor I’ve met trusts their team. So it’s natural they aren’t eager to spend additional monies or set up time consuming processes to ensure that none of their employees are inappropriately accessing company resources. Yet at the same time, doctors are looking to maximize their investments in efficiencies and compliance. The AuthAir solution has enormous appeal in the peace of mind it provides doctors relative to the threat of internal fraud. This is especially true when practices add new hires, since AuthAir gives doctors confidence that all staff system access is tracked.” Deschene notes, “Doctors also appreciate having the flexibility to implement AuthAir’s Fraud Detection Intelligence in the way that works best for their business, choosing their preferred level of oversight, secure in the knowledge that regardless of the level of alerting they elect, AuthAir’s audit trail will always be there if they need it.”
AuthAir’s Business Intelligence is equally adept at analyzing information from the protected workstations to furnish real-time visibility into patch status and critical updates, giving both the practice and their preferred Dental Technology Integrator a shared view.
The company will demonstrate its latest capabilities in Booth 2235 at Yankee Dental Congress in Boston, January 29-31, 2015.
