Holding executive positions at Norwich University Applied Research Institutes (NUARI) and Veracode, Susmann and Wysopal bring more than 55 years of combined IT security experience to Pwnie Express.

Philip T. Susmann is president of NUARI, a $5 million research and development non-profit that serves the national public interest through the study of critical national issues and the development of related training and educational programs. He also holds the role of vice president for strategic partnerships for Norwich University (NU), where he spearheads new business initiatives.Possessing deep cyber security expertise in the government and financial services sectors, Susmann has served at NU for 27 years as a faculty member, academic leader and chief information officer. He was the driving force behind the university’s Information Assurance program and designation as an NSA center of excellence, and was most recently responsible for building the NUARI from the ground-up. NUARI is credited for the development of the Distributed Environment for Critical Infrastructure Exercises (DECIDE), the platform used to deliver two large-scale financial sector exercises, Quantum Dawn 1 and 2. IT security visionary, author and entrepreneur Chris Wysopal is the co-founder, chief technology officer and chief information security officer of Veracode, where he oversees technology strategy and information security. Prior to Veracode, Wysopal was vice president of research and development at security consultancy @stake, which was acquired by Symantec.He is renowned for his role as an original vulnerability researcher at The L0pht, a high-profile hacker think tank, where he was one of the first to publicize the risks of insecure software.
