BOSTON, MASSACHUSSETTS, March 2, 2015—CoPatient has now launched their first official app in the App Store, available on all iOS devices. It allows users to sign up for a CoPatient account, upload their unpaid medical bills, and share information about those bills. It also allows the user to sign in to their account and see the status of their bills being reviewed. This will make it easier to engage with the services provided and to access it from anywhere, anytime.
“With the launch of this app, CoPatient has the opportunity to continue to make significant breakthroughs in the complicated world of medical billing.. You can now upload your medical bills to have them reviewed and negotiated anywhere, anytime. This could be a real game-changer for our industry,” said Rebecca Palm, CoPatient’s cofounder.
CoPatient has been working since 2012 to reduce consumers’ medical expenses through bill review and negotiation. The release of this new app makes that service easier than ever. Simply sign up for an account and upload your bills by taking a picture of them and sending them through the app. CoPatient will then review those bills to give you a free estimated savings report. Upon opting in, an expert patient advocate will get to work negotiating those bills with insurance companies and providers to ensure you are not paying more than you owe because of overcharges and/or errors. Throughout this process, the app allows you to check on the status of your bills. If and when CoPatient successfully saves you money, they receive 35% of your total savings.
The CoPatient app is free to download for all iOS users in the App Store. This is version 1.0 of CoPatient’s mobile functionality. Future versions will expand to enable more functionality, including messaging and payment processing.
