WALTHAM, Mass.—July 14, 2015—Bit9® + Carbon Black®, the leader in endpoint threat prevention, detection and response, today announced the appointment of Pedro Santos as vice president of product management. Santos oversees all of the company’s product management initiatives, reporting to CEO Patrick Morley.
Santos joins Bit9 + Carbon Black after 10 years at Akamai Technologies Inc. where most recently he was vice president for product management and market strategy for Akamai’s Web business unit, which he helped drive from its inception to the market leading products that exist today. Previously, he was vice president for mobile products and led the company’s e-commerce strategy.
“Cyber security is the number-one challenge facing businesses today, and continued product innovation is vital for Bit9 + Carbon Black to expand its leadership position and win in the marketplace,” said Morley. “To fill this critical position, we sought a leader not only with an exceptionally strong background in product strategy and management but also someone with the passion, commitment and intelligence to join our team as we build a large, standalone security company in Boston.”
Earlier in his career, Santos held product management leadership positions with MatrixOne and Genuity Solutions.

Santos earned an MBA from Babson College and a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
