NEW YORK, Dec. 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — AbilTo, Inc., the leading provider of tele-behavioral health programs proven to improve medical outcomes and lower costs for high-risk medical populations, today announced the launch of its three-week Booster Program, which helps graduates of AbilTo’s standard eight-week programs strengthen and refine their cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) skills and apply them to current challenges.
The new program is being offered as a complement to AbilTo’s core programs to address ongoing behavioral health challenges faced by individuals with cardiac disease, diabetes, chronic pain, general depression and postpartum depression. The new Booster Programs are made available to AbilTo graduates six months following initial program completion.
During Booster Programs, AbilTo’s licensed clinical social workers and behavior coaches work with participants on enhancing and sustaining motivation and adaptive coping; mood and trigger monitoring; and problem-solving skills. The programs are based on CBT and other evidence-based behavioral health interventions, and are tailored to address the unique needs of the clinical populations targeted. AbilTo conducts risk assessment with all participants, and they are referred to community-based resources as appropriate to ensure integration and coordination of care with other available resources. As with all AbilTo programs, participants receive treatment in Booster Programs by telephone or secure video via AbilTo’s technology platform.
According to AbilTo’s Chief Clinical Officer Aimee Peters, “Research literature suggests that a booster program offered within a year of a full-length program helps promote long-term gains. And many of the graduates who found AbilTo programs instrumental in reaching their goals wanted to follow up with their former teams to discuss their progress and how they could use learned skills to address current challenges. Our new Booster Programs address that need.”
