BURLINGTON, Mass. — January 25, 2015 — Veracode, a leader in protecting enterprises from today’s pervasive web and mobile application threats, today announced the expansion of its executive team to include veteran security leaders Brian Fitzgerald as chief marketing officer and Mike McGuinness as executive vice president, head of sales. The appointments come Veracode completed another record year of growth.
Brian Fitzgerald will be responsible for all marketing activities at Veracode and brings more than three decades of experience shaping markets through innovative global programs. Prior to joining Veracode, Brian served as senior vice president, marketing at RSA, the security division of EMC, where he led branding, communications and demand generation strategies as well as having responsibility for overseeing and expanding the world’s largest security trade show, RSA Conference. Brian previously served as senior director of marketing for EMC, responsible for positioning, branding, demand generation and corporate events. He also co-founded Reale/Fitzgerald Advertising, where he served as president and chief creative officer of a full-service advertising agency.
Mike McGuinness will drive global sales for Veracode, with responsibility over all direct and channel revenues. A seasoned veteran of the software industry, Mike has spent more than two decades establishing rapid growth programs for a wide range of companies, most recently serving in senior vice president of sales roles for software quality solutions company SmartBear, and cybersecurity providers Bromium and Sophos. Earlier in his career, Mike also served as PTCs head of sales, helping the company sales efforts as it tripled its revenues in four years. His executive experience also includes stints as CEO of technology companies NuGenesis and PanGeo Networks.
