Biel, Switzerland and New York, New York
Kaltura, the leading video technology provider, and SWISS TXT, the digital subsidiary of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation, have partnered to enable European customers to take advantage of the popular Kaltura SaaS video platform, hosted locally at the state-of-the-art SWISS TXT European data center, which complies with all EU data & privacy security standards and internal corporate governance. This new deployment option adds to Kaltura’s wide range of flexible existing deployment options, including the company’s US-based video cloud, global deployments running on Amazon and Azure, as well as on-premise deployments for multiple global customers. As part of the strategic partnership, SWISS TXT will also resell Kaltura’s market-leading education and enterprise video solutions to Swiss organizations.
The joint offering is based on SWISS TXT's cutting edge private media cloud infrastructure named "Swiss media cloud", operated in two fully redundant and disaster tolerant data centers, based in Switzerland and fully compliant with EU security regulations, and featuring full scalability ready to host thousands of virtual servers and Peta-bytes of media storage. It comes with 30Gbit/s of direct Internet peering bandwidth, out-of-the-box integration with popular CDNs as well as 24x7 multi-lingual technical support.
“Demand for locally hosted video solutions is booming, and we are delighted to team with Kaltura, the leader in the video SaaS space, to address this growing need with our state-of-the-art local cloud infrastructure, and supreme service,” commented Michael Solan, Head of Business Development, at SWISS TXT.
SBB, the Swiss Federal Railways, has already deployed Kaltura’s enterprise video platform, hosted by SWISS TXT to deliver a flexible corporate video solution to their 33,000 employees on desktop and mobile. This with minimal impact on their existing publishing processes as well as minimal load on their internal IT networking infrastructure.
“As we continue to expand our European presence with new partners and customers rapidly coming on board, we are seeing a growing number of companies and educational institutions that require local hosting for security and compliance reasons,” said Ron Yekutiel, Kaltura Co-founder, Chairman and CEO, “After carefully evaluating several options, we are excited to partner with SWISS TXT to expand our reach and cater to local requirements at the highest level.”
SWISS TXT’s cloud infrastructure is used by the Swiss Public Broadcasting Corporation SRG SSR for streaming all of the company’s web content, as well as additional sport event broadcasts, HbbTV and cable operator Quickline for their popular OTT DTV offering.
