BOSTON, Mass. — January 31, 2019 — Threat Stack, the leader in cloud infrastructure security, today announced it achieved 100 percent revenue growth in 2018, highlighting the growing demand for full stack cloud security observability. After increasing its employee base by 20 percent in 2018, Threat Stack also announced three additions to its executive team; Matt Engel has been named Chief Revenue Officer, Kevin Baughman joins the company as Vice President of Engineering and Hayley Hynes has been hired as Vice President of Partners.
Executing on a strategy laid out following its $45 million Series C funding round in late 2017, Threat Stack expanded its reach throughout 2018 as it helped customers achieve full stack cloud security observability. Some of the most notable achievements include:
- The introduction of the Threat Stack Cloud SecOps Program℠, a series of services built upon industry-leading visibility and insights from the Threat Stack Cloud Security Platform® that helps customers securely navigate the transition to the cloud and deployment of containers.
- The announcement of a new containerized agent that enables customers to leverage Kubernetes DaemonSets to automatically deploy Threat Stack alongside new container deployments.
- A partnership with Red Canary, a cloud-based managed detection and response solution, that helps customers reduce the mean time to remediation for security alerts.
- The acquisition of Bluefyre, a runtime application security vendor, that gives Threat Stack customers the ability to maintain observability from the control plane to the application layer.
Previously the Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Threat Stack, Matt Engel’s appointment as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) will enable him to leverage his over 20 years of leadership experience in the technology industry to drive continued growth for Threat Stack. Engel is now responsible for leading the go-to-market strategy and ensuring a seamless customer journey across the business.
Kevin Baughman joins Threat Stack as the Vice President of Engineering after serving as Vice President of Engineering at Applause, and Founding Engineer at Nasuni. At Threat Stack Kevin will provide strategic guidance across all of Threat Stack’s engineering teams as they continue to optimize the delivery of the Threat Stack Cloud Security Platform.
Vice President of Business Development Hayley Hynes comes to Threat Stack from Cisco’s Cloud Security Business Group where she was Head of Strategic Partnerships and Alliances. Hynes will focus on building out Threat Stack’s channel, technical, and alliance partnerships, as well as expanding upon existing partnerships and integrations. Through these efforts, Threat Stack will expand its reach into new and existing markets.
“2018 was a banner year for Threat Stack. We saw years of work developing the industry’s strongest cloud security platform pay off with rapid growth in both revenue and our customer base,” said Brian M. Ahern, CEO, Threat Stack “We’re very excited to build upon this success as we welcome Hayley and Kevin to Threat Stack.
