Metacafe®, the world’s leading independent online video site, is bringing fans of horror movies the chance to direct their own thriller short in The Last House on the Left Horror Remixer. The Horror Remixer features video clips, audio tracks and special effects that enable Metacafe viewers to create their own trailer for Rogue Pictures’ The Last House on the Left, the reimagining of the landmark film by masters of horror Wes Craven and Sean Cunningham that opens in theaters on March 13, 2009.
Clips from the movie, one of the year’s most highly anticipated suspense thrillers, will also be featured in the Metadeath channel on Metacafe, a showcase of horror-related content from partners including FEARnet and Full Moon Pictures.
“Online video is an effective and efficient way for movie marketers to reach their target consumers,” said Jack Rotherham, senior vice president of strategic sales and partnerships for Metacafe. “The Last House on the Left campaign is a great example of how we work with our partners in Hollywood to build awareness and anticipation of releases through contextually relevant placements and programs that empower fans to engage with the content in a hands-on way.”
The Last House on the Left Horror Remixer is powered by Kaltura, the first open source platform for video creation, management, interaction and collaboration, using the company’s collaborative online video editor.
