(NASHVILLE, Tennessee – January 13, 2022) – Wayspring, a leading risk-based provider of high-touch care coordination and treatment services for those with substance use disorder (SUD), has added Dr. Michael Frost as the company’s Chief Medical Officer.

Frost brings more than nineteen years of addiction treatment expertise to Wayspring. He is a fellow of The American College of Physicians and a Distinguished Fellow of The American Society of Addiction Medicine as well as a member of the Canadian Society of Addiction Medicine. He has served as a medical director for several addiction treatment facilities. Dr. Frost is also heavily involved in new treatment development, clinical research and consults with numerous companies regarding clinical development and healthcare policy. He is widely published, and his work has been presented across the United States, Canada, and Europe.

As Chief Medical Officer, Frost will oversee medical and behavioral health provider services as part of Wayspring’s SUD Home model, provide guidance and development of treatment approaches for members with SUD, as well support existing market clinical operations.
In addition to Frost, the company has recently added several experienced senior leaders including Courtney Henchon (Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations), Judy Slagle (Senior Vice President of Health Services), Kate Johnson (Vice President of Solution Improvement), Jennifer Johnson (Vice President of Clinical Operations), and Tanya Deane (Vice President of Human Resources).
Frost, along with the other new members of Wayspring’s leadership team, are joining the company during a period of rapid growth. Over the past 12 months, Wayspring has deployed its value-based SUD Home model with several health plan partners. Today, Wayspring operates in seven states. The company raised $75 million in 2021 from leading healthcare investors to support the expansion of the model.
