NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Wayspring, a leader in providing comprehensive substance use disorder (SUD) care, proudly announces the significant expansion of its services for Wellpoint Tennessee, Inc. (Wellpoint) members. This expansion not only reflects Wayspring’s commitment to transforming lives and communities impacted by SUD but also builds on a successful seven-year partnership with Wellpoint.
Over the last seven years of partnership between Wayspring and Wellpoint, Wayspring’s services have evolved from focusing primarily on opioid misuse to developing a broad spectrum of member-facing recovery solutions. Wayspring is now introducing its innovative SUD Home model in Tennessee, aimed at addressing the complex needs of individuals battling SUD. This holistic program goes beyond traditional treatment models by tackling societal stigmas and social determinants of health (SDoH), ensuring a comprehensive approach to recovery.
“At Wellpoint, we’re taking a whole-health approach to improve access, affordability, and outcomes for those we are privileged to serve,” said Renea Bentley, Ed.D., LPC-MHSP, Wellpoint Executive Director of Behavioral Health. “We believe a comprehensive approach is needed to address the behavioral health of our communities and this collaboration underscores our shared commitment by providing innovative and quality substance use treatment and recovery services.”
Wayspring’s SUD Home model is a transformative approach that integrates medical treatment, behavioral health care, and vital social support services into one cohesive framework. Members receive personalized treatment plans that can include Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), behavioral health medication management, and treatment for co-occurring physical health conditions. The program also offers extensive therapy options to tackle underlying psychological factors contributing to SUDs, facilitated by a dedicated care team that helps ensure seamless integration of services and resources and access to specialist healthcare providers.
“As we expand our offerings in Tennessee, we are not just providing new clinical services to our members, but we are also deepening our commitment to the community that saw our first steps,” said Sarah Mansouri, Wayspring’s Executive Director of Tennessee. “This expansion is a celebration of our history and a bold stride towards a future where everyone can access the comprehensive care they deserve.”
“Our growth in Tennessee is a testament to our foundational mission and a major step forward in our journey,” said Carter Paine, CEO of Wayspring. We’re doing more than just expanding services here in Tennessee. We’re bringing a proven, compassionate care model to a community that means so much to us. We’re excited to make an even bigger impact in the lives of those who are struggling with substance use challenges.”
Central to Wayspring’s innovative model is the integration of clinical services into members’ care plans. Through planned new clinics in Tennessee, members will have convenient access to addiction treatment, medical treatment, and behavioral health treatment, all provided by licensed Wayspring providers through in-person appointments and telehealth. These clinics aim to create a welcoming environment where individuals can receive holistic care tailored to support their recovery journey.
Wayspring invites all community members, healthcare providers, and stakeholders to join in this vital mission to support individuals overcoming substance use disorders. For more information about Wayspring’s Tennessee services or to get involved, visit www.wayspring.com.
