08.17.2010 - Waltham, Mass. - Bit9, the leader in advanced threat protection, today announced that Bit9 Parity Suite 6.0 is in evaluation by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) to be certified to Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level 2+. Common Criteria is an internationally recognized standard that provides a broad range of evaluation criteria for commercial and nationally sensitive government-use IT security products.
Upon certification completion to Common Criteria EAL2+, Bit9 Parity Suite is expected to be the first Application Whitelisting solution accepted by NIAP.
"Bit9 is committed to delivering endpoint security solutions that are designed to comply with national security criteria to meet our customer needs," said Harry Sverdlove, CTO at Bit9. "As the first Application Whitelisting solution in evaluation to Common Criteria 2+, customers can be assured that the quality of the Bit9 Parity Suite Application Whitelisting solution has been independently validated.”
Bit9 has selected Booz Allen Hamilton's Common Criteria Testing Laboratory (CCTL) as the Common Criteria Test Lab to conduct the independent evaluation. Booz Allen is one of only nine CCTLs approved by the National Information Assurance Partnership that meet U.S. Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme. Booz Allen has a long history in providing both strategic consulting and evaluation services in common criteria and trust technology, as well as the spectrum of cyber security threats and defenses.
“Booz Allen's Common Criteria Testing Lab is excited to assist Bit9 in ensuring their clients that Bit9 Parity Suite meets the necessary security standards,” said Bill Stewart, Booz Allen Senior Vice President and Cyber Security expert. “We are very pleased to be able to help Bit9 deliver enduring value to their government customers.”
In addition to the Common Criteria evaluation, Bit9 has been outperforming the endpoint security market this year with a surge in government and enterprise customers and has recently been honored by several prestigious awards, including:
• Best Application Whitelisting Solution in the industry by InfoWorld
• 2010 Technology of the Year Award by InfoWorld
