03.15.11 - Waltham, Mass. - Bit9 Inc., the leader in Advanced Endpoint Protection, announced today that Bit9 Parity Suite has been certified by Q1 Labs, a global provider of security intelligence solutions, for its Security Intelligence Partner Program.
As a part of the certification, Bit9 has demonstrated integration with Q1 Labs’ open protocols – LEEF (Log Event Enhanced Format) and AXIS (Asset Exchange Information Source) – the primary protocols utilized in security information and event management (SIEM) and log management deployments.
Bit9, the first endpoint security provider to integrate with Q1 Labs’ Security Intelligence Platform, provides IT security through complete visibility, knowledge, and control over what software is allowed to run on endpoints. The company’s flagship product, the Bit9 Parity Suite, is equipped with critical security sensors, which monitor, control and alert on unauthorized changes that may represent an attack on an endpoint.
“There’s a blind spot on the endpoint, so naturally it’s often the inception point for advanced persistent attacks, and the addition of Bit9 endpoint intelligence to Q1 Labs’ Security Intelligence Platform provides IT teams with a powerful new method of quickly identifying unforeseen problems,” said Doug Cahill, vice president of business development at Bit9. “Enterprises are rapidly migrating to next-generation security solutions and this integration will enable more sophisticated event correlation for advanced end-to-end threat protection.”
Bit9’s adoption of Q1 Labs’ protocols meets growing demand from customers to integrate Bit9 Parity Suite with Q1 Labs’ QRadar Security Intelligence Platform. This program also allows partners to more tightly integrate with Q1 Labs Security Intelligence products, providing a direct feed of event, asset/vulnerability, configuration management and flow information, as well as the enablement of automated updates.
Bit9 Parity is an integral part of a new stack of security technologies that are being deployed to defend against Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs). New security sensors, Advanced Network Protection and Advanced Endpoint Protection are being leveraged to identify infrastructure anomalies and generate advanced security events that are then fed to a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution. The SIEM combined with Bit9 Parity helps organizations correlate elusive threats on the network with stealth malware on the endpoint – connecting the symptoms with the root cause.
“The integration of Bit9 and Q1 Labs provides joint customers with even more visibility into the full threat lifecycle – from the initial launch of an attack, all the way through remediation at the endpoint,” said Tom Turner, senior vice president of marketing and channels at Q1 Labs. “Combined, our technologies provide a powerful solution to combating Advanced Persistent Threats.”
