WASHINGTON, D.C. — June 14, 2011 — Hanley Wood, the premier publisher of Remodeling, ePlans, Builder, Architect, and more than 30 other robust print and online brands serving the commercial and residential construction industry, has completed a competitive bid process and appointed Optaros as its eCommerce solution provider.
Optaros will provide Hanley Wood’s Consumer Media Division, the nation’s leading supplier of home plans and related services, with the technology, services, design and expertise to re-platform the company’s portfolio of sites that sell stock house plans, as well as garage, deck, and landscaping plans direct to consumers. In addition, the comprehensive Optaros solution will serve as the system of record for Hanley Wood’s entire B2C (business to consumer) eCommerce business as it continues to evolve to the next level.
The decision to partner with Optaros reflects the increasing importance of driving a differentiated and best-in-class customer experience as part of Hanley Wood’s expanding online business strategy. The strength and flexibility of Optaros’ integrated commerce, content management, and community platform was paramount in the selection process.
“Our goal is to provide a complete range of information and tools that a home owner, builder or contractor needs to build a house,” said Dave Rook, executive director of consumer media, Hanley Wood. “In order to deliver a remarkable customer experience and serve our distinct consumer segments, we selected Optaros to help us design and develop multiple, integrated and highly functional online destinations where customers can go to satisfy their unique business and information needs.”
“Hanley Wood has chosen to work with Optaros to realize their vision of creating an innovative experience for their online brands,” said John Polcari, senior vice president, North American sales and global marketing, Optaros. “Our experience configuring solutions for world-class publishers and online retailers will allow Hanley Wood to deliver a targeted user experience where content, community and commerce work together to power their competitive capability.”
