Schurr brings more than 20 years of experience in management, marketing, product management and strategy from a variety of technology companies that range from early stage startups to large, established public organizations.

As CMO, Schurr leads all aspects of Bit9’s worldwide marketing including strategy, messaging and positioning, brand development, demand generation, digital marketing, Website messaging, social media strategy, and analyst and public relations. Schurr joins the company during a time of accelerating company growth, marked by an increasing enterprise and government demand for Bit9’s technology. Bit9 has been successful in protecting intellectual property (IP) against malware and high-profile Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) such as Aurora, Stuxnet and most recently Flame.

Prior to joining Bit9, Schurr held key management and leadership positions in the high-tech software sector, playing instrumental roles in an IPO and many successful acquisitions. Before joining Bit9 he served as senior vice president of marketing of the Application Performance Management Business Unit at Compuware and the senior vice president of marketing at Gomez, Inc. Previous roles include: vice president of worldwide marketing for the Rational Software division of IBM, chief marketing officer and general manager at Rational Software, and vice president of marketing and product management at SQA, Inc. Schurr graduated from Depauw University in Greencastle, Ind., with a B.A. in math and English composition.
